Academy Program Overview

Elmbrook United’s Academy program provides a higher level of coaching and playing opportunities for committed players who desire advanced instruction and skill development.  It is designed specifically to help our youngest players improve technically by mastering core fundamentals and specific skills to increase each individual player’s ability with the ball. Additional focus is placed on decision making, with and without the ball, increasing our youngest players overall base of knowledge of the game. Players experience training and games in an atmosphere focused not on winning and losing, but on individual player development. More importantly, the kids are placed in a fun, safe and exciting environment with soccer at the forefront.

The 2026/2027 fall season will start the week of August 10.

For the upcoming Fall 2026/Spring 2027 season, the Elmbrook United Academy program is open to all players U7-U10 (born between August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2020). There are no tryouts.  Teams will be formed after the first two weeks of fall training.  Players may be realigned throughout the year, based on individual player development and coaches’ recommendations.  U7/U8 is a combined age group.  There can/will be both U7 and U8 players on the same team.  On these combined teams, there are typically 6-8 players on a roster and the play format is 4v4 with no goalkeepers.  U9 and U10 teams and players are not combined.  Teams in U9 and U10 typically have 9-12 players on a roster and play a 7v7 format with a goalkeeper.  All EBU academy players are placed on teams based on development, ability, physical attributes, athleticism, aggressiveness, speed and technical ability.

EBU academy coaches can/will coach TWO teams and train them at the same time.  The EBU coaching staff is not limited to paid/lead coaches.  EBU’s academy coaching staff has both lead/paid coaches and parent/volunteer coaches involved at all academy age groups U7-U10.

Elmbrook United’s Academy Program provides training and game opportunities for all U7-U10 players in the fall, winter and spring seasons. All EBU activities are conducted by EBU Academy’s highly qualified professional coaching staff.  Practices and home games are held at Elm Grove Village Park.
